The Wild Stage Reprised
Prepare to be transported to 1920’s Berlin in this exploration of German Kabarett repertoire. Songs by Hollaender, Spolianksy, and Weill tell the story of an era of political turbulence, societal unrest, and artistic awakening. The fresh urbanziation of Berlin can be heard in Weill’s “Berlin im Licht.” The struggle for feminine identity and security in the newly cosmopolitan Berlin can be heard in songs like Weill’s “Nana’s Lied” and Hollaender’s “I am a Vamp.” This performance was originally slated for April 2020, and its revival is happening this February 26th. Join us for this engaging evening of Cabaret that will have you humming along as you raise your glass. Prost!
Gather with us at The Davenport Piano Bar and Cabaret on Saturday February 26th at 8 PM.
