2024 Year in Review

I cannot believe this year is coming to a close…

Writing a full year in review is going to be quite the task for 2024, but I am here to give it a go…month by month! There will be lots of videos to take you along for the journey, so read on!

JANUARY

BERLIN BABY

I premiered this Wild Stage show at Storyville Lounge (the most immersive speakeasy in Pittsburgh!) The program took audiences back in time again to Weimar Berlin. Four women of song are profiled in this show.

Legacies of Hope: a Benefit Concert for Refuge for Women

I was so honored to deliver this concert benefitting Refuge for Women during Human Trafficking Awareness Month. It is a faith based Pittsburgh organization that helps women escape trafficking and have a place to rehabilitate. The art song recital focused on songs by female composers that centered on themes of hope, grit, and redemption.

FEBRUARY

In February, I took some much needed time off from performing in order to prepare for the premiere of The Gilded Stage in early March…

MARCH

THE GILDED STAGE: A MUSICAL ILLUMINATION

My father and I officially collaborated on a historical immersion experience! He was the lighting designer and technical director for the Gilded Stage crafting Gilded Age inspired light fixtures with authentic Edison bulbs from his personal collection. The music was brought to life by this! I performed alongside Karen Jeng Lin (piano) and Nicole Lennartz (violin) to deliver an evening of Gilded Age parlor music at Sewickley Heights History Center.

APRIL

We got married!!

My husband & I tied the knot with all our loved ones present! It was a magical day, and we even had a 1920’s theme!

MAY

I launched my new YouTube channel: The Historical Songstress! My goal is to take my community back in time with the things I sing & do. Since launching, I have come out with FIVE music videos, vintage cooking videos, and lots of vlogs that show me doing fun history, vintage, and singing activities! Enjoy one of our music videos below!

JUNE

The Wild Stage: Tantalized

I reprised my one woman show for Storyville Lounge, and added lots more deep cabaret cuts into the mix.

JULY

The Wild Stage: Tantalized

We brought the show to a brand new, up and coming speakeasy venue called Cosign Lounge!

I ALSO got to perform at Pittsburgh International Airport on the airside terminal for travelers. It was truly one of the most fun gigs I’ve ever had!

AUGUST

We announced that we’re expecting!

To be quite candid, the rest of the summer brought a lot of consistent nausea my way, but I was able to do some performances and soak in the newness of what is ahead of us!

WQED Voices for the Arts Podcast

Nicole & I were able to perform an exceprt and give a preview for The Gilded Gala—our full scale reprisal of the The Gilded Stage: A Musical Illumination at Sewickley Heights History Center. What a joy to be in the studio!

SEPTEMBER

A GILDED GALA

With Radiant Strings, we expanded our Gilded Stage experience to include more music on a larger scale with more complex lighting elements (also designed by my father)! The concert was also outdoors under cover, so that patrons could enjoy the evening air! Probably the most magical music making experience I have ever had!

LORD, WHAT IS MAN?

I delivered my sacred music concert experience at Saint Gregory Catholic Church in Zeilenople, Pennsylvania!

OCTOBER

THE LETTERS OF SGT. JAMES TOLBERT: B-17 TAILGUNNER AND POW

I had the immense honor of delivering a lecture with Avonworth Historical Society on the letters of this incredible hero. I am pictured here with 3 of his children.

NOVEMBER

I thought it was about time I ventured into the world of French cabaret, so I took my opportunity when I was booked to sing at Mel’s Petit Cafe! Enjoy this excerpt and a vlog on the whole weekend!

DECEMBER

I had the pleasure of being a soloist for Trinity Evangelical Lutheran’s annual Christmas Cantata. You can see an excerpt in the vlog below! I also released THREE MUSIC VIDEOS! All of which are linked below. I sang a private party as well. It was a blessed holiday season for me and my growing family! I hope it was for you as well!
